If I have an Arris 1602, but a Sagemcom fast 5260, will I still get latency? I would stay away from Sagemcom. They only sell to ISP so there is very little user review on them. Title says it all, it's clearly on firmware that's old and outdated and even says it has firmware updates available problem is it just takes me to Sagemcom's website where there is not a single download for it, it just brings me to the sagemcoms series of modems that you can buy and their ADSL modem + Router combo yet not a single mention of spectrum or their router firmware, mind you this is a router NOT a modem / router combo. I think if they clearly show in the user interface that's theres an update available then at least let the customer download the damn update. (Sorry for my language but this has been going on since I got the router last year in November and it's ftrustrating as an IT Guy, I have a seperate router just for my little home lab for tinkering with network setups and so far that router works better than my spectrum supplied router. But then again I don't want to put that in front since the rest of the family would have to deal with my tinkering and learning (which is needed for work and updating certification purposes) If it makes any difference I live in Waupun Wisconsin and the Spectrum office is just 15 minutes away in Fond Du Lac, I am also a legacy Charter customer due to the merger.
